With the power to make whatever you can think of a reality, you would expect something to maybe happen during this movie and not just set up for X number of sequels to follow...Oh wait, every movie is doing that these days. Stupid me.

X-Men: First Class
Class is in session and it turns out its a class you should choose not to skip. X-Men: First Class is the back story on how some of the main characters of the X-Men world come to be.
Normally I prefer my back story to be nice and simple, this film is just an entire back story, not so much a prequel to the X-Men movies but as a different view to a generation we only know so much about.

The Hangover Part 2...Or Remake of Hangover 1?
Well well well, if it isn't the sequel to the move that got The Dead Siskels going in the first place. Time has passed and The Hangover has gone up in our books, however not anything near what Old School was, but still a fairly good movie ride.

Hanna
Who knew that Jason Bourne was actually a 15 year old German girl? I know I was surprised when I figured it out.
Hanna would kick the crap out of the girls of Sucker Punch and then say some clever catch phrase in 5 different languages to the pile of sexiness on the ground. Truly a fun movie to watch as it starts off with excitement and end just the same way...Really, it does!

New this Friday April 8th 2011
There are 5 movies coming out this Friday. Dead Siskels are
planning on checking out at least a few of the films. Below are the trailers and a blurb on what I think, have a look.

Source Code
Who knew watching 8 minutes over and over again could be this good? Source Code was a surprising escape from reality as long as you don't need to break all the science down. As basic as the idea was for this movie, the characters and a few "mini stories" all rolled into the main plot really made this movie good.
Ever see the TV show Quantum Leap? Mix that with the idea of Groundhog Day then just toss in some action and a little Russell Peters and you're set.

Movie News
Here is some Movie News that has been reported from various websites around the net. We've compiled some of the more interesting tid-bits and will be posting on a "whenever we feel like it" basis.
MGM to Reboot Child’s Play
According to Movieweb, MGM is going to go back to the well and are planning to Child’s Play. Which means they’re not stopping with RoboCop in their rush to remake their most popular titles – likely in an attempt to revitalize their currently defunct studio. There is a script written by original writer Don Mancini, and it appears that Brad Dourif will be reprising his voice role as the killer doll Chucky.
‘Kick-Ass 2′ Falls Into Development Hell
Hey Kick-Ass fans, you’re not waiting for the sequel to hit theaters next year are you? Oh, you are? ‘Cause, you see… well…
It ain’t gonna happen. According to Cinema Blend, Kick-Ass 2 is dead in the water:

Jane Goldman talking to Absolute Radio says, ‘I don’t think it’s going to happen. At the moment it’s not in the works. We’re all doing different things at the moment. We would love to do it again, but we’ve all been pulled in different directions.’

Hobo with a Shotgun
"Hobo Stops begging, demands change", A perfect line for this movie if only it could somehow project images of blood and gore into your minds.
I was lucky enough to see this opening night and surrounded by some pretty hardcore fans of the grindhouse genre. Was even lucky to have some of the main cast and "movie makers" there to give a friendly hello. If you have never seen; Planet Terror, Death Proof or Machete then chances are you are in for a treat. If you have seen any or all of those and loved them, then sit back and get excited (you probably already are). If you have seen one or all and thought it was stupid and disgusting then this movie is probably not for you. That all being said, rating this movie was kinda hard to do. So read along and see what I come up with.

This Weekend March 25-27
This weekend brings in a few movies I hope to review. Hobo with a Shotgun (Trailer Here) and Sucker Punch (Here). Both of which I am excited for. however I do expect both to lack in an actual story and be full on graphics and gore (HwaS). That being said I am still very interested to see what will come from these movies. I am going to try and see one tonight and the other before the end of the weekend, but we shall see how it turns out.
Which would you like me to see first? Leave your answers in the comment section below.

Limitless... Kinda Limited
You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes OR you can take the clear pill and get a 4 digit IQ and do exactly what anyone of us would... Make lots on money, Party hard and Look sexy. Limitless was a movie I didn't think I would really go see as I suspected it would be a pretty quick flop at the box office based on what I had seen in the trailer, but with nothing better to do on a Saturday night and a free movie pass off I went.

Paul - Funny, Crude, Sexual, Joint-Smoker, Atheist
With such amazing quotes as:
"You bet your big fat cock I am"
"Yo fuck-nuts, it's probin' time"
"You bet your big fat cock I am"
"Yo fuck-nuts, it's probin' time"
and, "I have wasps in my brain"
You just know it's going to be an interesting ride. Paul was an great sit down and laugh movie that will speak more towards the "Fanboys" of Sci-Fi movies of the years gone by. Chances are the mother with the 2 10 year old boys sitting beside me in the theater didn't really get all the references or sexual innuendo...Sure was funny when she took them out of there though!

New Movies out this Friday March 18th
There are 2 main movies out this coming weekend.
Paul - About two British geeks traveling across the U.S. encounter an alien outside Area 51 with comedy ensuing.
Limitless - About a boring writer who discovers a top-secret drug which gives him super abilities.
Both look as though they might have some potential but I am not seeing any 5-star reviews in the coming days. I am mostly interested in Paul, as it has 2 of my favorite British comedy actors in it and I have enjoyed all their movies to date (still no 5-stars). As for Limitless...Bradley Cooper, stop being so smug with your good looks and wads of money.
Trailers Below :-)

Hobo With a Shot Gun - Trailer
Hobo with a Shotgun is a 2011 film directed by Jason Eisener and written by John Davies. It is based on the Grindhouse trailer of the same name and was filmed in HALIFAX... WOO!
Looks like another in your face, crazy bloody movie, but we love that right?
Check out the unrated trailer below.
Battle: Los Angeles
Take one part Black Hawk Down and one part Independence Day, add a dash of advanced special effects, then bake in the "Cliché Oven" for about 2 hours season with bad script and shitty story then serve to American youth looking for a career in the military... I call it "Battle: à L.A. mode".
Battle: LA is just riddled with poor script writing and sub-par acting. The only thing that really made this movie worth sticking around for was the pretty decent special effects and "action". Which in the end is all that really brought you to come see this movie anyway, right? I now know why there was no talking in the trailer for this movie.

Up Coming Movies - And What I Think of Them
Dylan Dog: Dead of Night
Not 100% sure where I stand on this one right now, Seems like it could be a mini cult classic, or a complete flop. Time shall tell. What do you think?

I am Number Four
I AM NUMBER....1..2...3...4.....12 in the movie theatre, none of which were 15 year old kids. With a movie slated as a Sci-Fi movie for teenagers it's a wonder the place wasn't packed to the brim with them. Granted it was released back in Feb. and some movie about a Beaver called Never Say Never was playing and seemed to be taking in quite a crowd.
Basic Plot:John Smith is an alien from planet Lorien who was sent to Earth as a baby with eight others to escape an invading race, the Mogadorians, which destroyed their home planet. -So far I have Superman in my head- As the movie goes along he discovers that he has developed superpowers due to his extraterrestrial nature, such as enhanced strength, speed and agility, and the power to generate light from his hands -Meg growing her fingernails, eat your heart out-. All the while being chased by this group of Mogadorians since he is number 4 on their hit list -no reason as to why they have to be killed in order-.

Well it's 2011 and its been a while to say the least.
As some of you may know this is actually the 3rd version of The Dead Siskels website idea. The first one (click here) was done on Wordpress with fellow movie reviewer John King.
After many reviews, John decided he was above this idea and spat in my face and went to form his own movie news/review website called www.thatmoviesucked.com.... and I couldn't have expected more from what he came up with. Spot On John, Spot On.
Some time later The Dead Siskels moved to a new hosting site (click here) and started a new round of movie reviews and also started following movie news as well. Guests writers also submitted their reviews and made the website a little different again. After a while and a bunch of reviews things started to fizzle out; Was it a lack of movie watching? NOPE. Was it a lack of movies? NOPE. Was it any real reason? NOPE. It just kind of went away and that was OK... For a while.
Now, I feel a new spark to write some more reviews, see who will actually follow this thing and maybe test out some new ideas. Maybe it will last a while, and maybe it wont... It's 4:15am Saturday morning right now, I'm not to sure of anything.
Thanks for checking it out... again. If its your first time around, check out the past reviews from old sites to see what it's going to be like here.
